Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2

National Science Day was celebrated on 28.2.2007 in the Vidyalaya in a grand and befitting manner.

The gathering was welcomed by Mr Abdul Razak, PGT (Chemistry) of this Vidyalaya who also gave introductory speech with the message “More crop per drop”. After invoking the almighty, the programme began with garlanding the portrait of Sir C V Raman and lighting the lamp in memory of his discovery, popularly known as “Raman effect”.

The programme of the particular day included speeches on importance of science, History of Earth and the changes on earth so far and Use of water in the filed of Agriculture and prevention of pollution etc.

The highlight of this programme was a colourful item, a play on ‘Aliens’ by Primary students. The programme also included the demonstration and presentations of working models by various students of classes IV to IX and XI. It was a spectacular show which caught the attention of all the students and teachers. It was appreciated by one and all.

Finally, the Principal addressed the students and the teachers, giving a detailed information on “Formation of earth and periodic changes” with its implications on daily life.

In connection with the National Science Day, class wise competitions were also held as given below.

The entries were judged and prize distribution was done on the same day for all the prize winners of various competitions, for the students who gave demonstrations and also for all those who participated in the celebration of National Science Day programme.

An exhibition of the Drawing and Paintings and Posters was also arranged which was appreciated by one and all.

Thus, the Vidyalaya celebrated National Science Day-2007 with full zeal and enthusiasm to motivate all the students and to promote scientific thinking and aptitude among the students such that at least a few of the students turn out to be great Scientists in future.
